Transparency means more than publishing an ingredient list. It means explaining why each ingredient is present, what role it plays in the formula, and how it relates to the skin.

Grass-Fed and Finished Suet Tallow

INCI: Bos Taurus Tallow (Rendered Beef Suet)

Source: Rendered from the nutrient-dense suet of grass-fed and grass-finished cattle, slowly purified in small batches.
Found in: Simple Tallow Balm · Everyday Tallow Balm
Why we selected it: Selected for its fatty acid profile, which is closely compatible with the lipids naturally found in human skin.
Its role in the formula: Forms the rich, protective base of our balms. Helps reduce moisture loss and helps support the skin barrier.
Skin types that may benefit: Dry, delicate, or sensitive-feeling skin, and anyone seeking richer occlusive care.
Sensitivity & patch testing: Skin responses vary. Very oily or congestion-prone skin may prefer a lighter face oil. Patch test before regular use.

Organic Jojoba Oil

INCI: Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil

Source: Cold-pressed from organically grown jojoba seed.
Found in: Simple Tallow Balm · Everyday Tallow Balm · Wildflower Oil · Organic Jojoba Oil · Rose Otto Oil
Why we selected it: Jojoba is technically a liquid wax ester with a composition that resembles components of human sebum. It is known for its low comedogenic potential and strong oxidative stability.
Its role in the formula: Lightens and balances our balms and forms the stable base of our face oils.
Skin types that may benefit: All skin types, including skin seeking a lightweight feel.
Sensitivity & patch testing: Generally well tolerated, though responses vary. Patch test before regular use.

Blue Tansy

INCI: Tanacetum Annuum Flower Oil

Source: Steam-distilled flowering tops, used in very small amounts.
Found in: Everyday Tallow Balm · Wildflower Oil
Why we selected it: Selected for its aromatic character and skin-soothing qualities, and included only in small, intentional amounts.
Its role in the formula: Contributes the formula's soft botanical scent and gentle blue-green cast.
Skin types that may benefit: Normal and combination skin, and skin that appreciates a calming aromatic finish.
Sensitivity & patch testing: Blue tansy is a botanical essential oil. Sensitive individuals may respond differently — please patch test on a small area and discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil

INCI: Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Oil

Source: Pressed from the fruit of the sea buckthorn shrub.
Found in: Wildflower Oil
Why we selected it: Chosen for its naturally occurring lipids and antioxidant compounds, which support the appearance of healthy skin.
Its role in the formula: Adds nourishing depth to our face oil. Its rich natural color reflects its botanical composition.
Skin types that may benefit: Dry, dull-feeling, or environmentally stressed skin.
Sensitivity & patch testing: The deep natural pigment may briefly tint very fair skin or light fabrics. Patch test before regular use.

Vitamin E

INCI: Tocopherol

Source: Naturally derived tocopherol.
Found in: Simple Tallow Balm · Everyday Tallow Balm · Wildflower Oil
Why we selected it: Selected to help support the oxidative stability of our oil-based formulas while conditioning the skin.
Its role in the formula: Helps keep formulas fresh through their shelf life and contributes a conditioning quality.
Skin types that may benefit: All skin types.
Sensitivity & patch testing: Rarely irritating, though responses vary. Patch test before regular use.

Rose Otto

INCI: Rosa Damascena Flower Oil

Source: Steam-distilled from Damask rose flowers, one of the most precious essential oils in perfumery.
Found in: Rose Otto Oil
Why we selected it: Selected for its delicate, true rose aroma and its tradition of softening and conditioning the skin.
Its role in the formula: Provides the natural fragrance and contributes a gentle, skin-conditioning quality to the face and body oil.
Skin types that may benefit: All skin types, and anyone who appreciates a natural, floral aroma.
Sensitivity & patch testing: Rose Otto is a botanical essential oil. Sensitive individuals may respond differently — please patch test on a small area and discontinue use if irritation occurs.
