FAQ
Questions, answered
- Which product is right for my skin type?
- Dry, delicate, or sensitive-feeling skin often prefers the Simple Tallow Balm. Normal to combination skin tends to enjoy the Everyday Tallow Balm or Wildflower Oil. If you prefer the simplest possible routine, our single-ingredient Organic Jojoba Oil suits all skin types.
- How much product should I use?
- Less than you might expect. Begin with a pea-sized amount of balm or two to four drops of oil, and add more only if your skin still feels thirsty.
- Should I apply balm to damp skin?
- Yes. Applying to slightly damp skin helps the balm seal in moisture and helps reduce moisture loss through the day or night.
- Why do the products vary slightly between batches?
- Our ingredients are agricultural. Color, scent, and texture shift gently with each harvest and each small batch — a natural sign of minimally processed ingredients.
- How should I store my products?
- Keep your products away from direct sunlight and heat. Amber glass helps protect the formulas, and a cool, shaded shelf helps support their stability.
- Are the products suitable for sensitive skin?
- Many people with sensitive-feeling skin do well with our simplest formulas, especially the Simple Tallow Balm and Organic Jojoba Oil. Skin responses vary, so we always recommend patch testing first.
- Why should I patch test?
- Even simple, natural ingredients can affect individuals differently. Apply a small amount to the inner forearm and wait 24 hours before regular use.
- What does “small-batch” mean?
- Each batch is made by hand in a limited quantity, so formulas reach you fresh and every step receives attention and care.
- Do the products contain synthetic fragrance?
- No. Any scent comes from the ingredients themselves, including the small, intentional amount of blue tansy in select formulas.
- Where are Gaia Treasures products made?
- Every product is thoughtfully crafted in small batches in Hawaiʻi.
